Target groups

The final target group of the project are, on the one hand, youths and young adults, whose employment opportunities are increased by the project measures, and workers who improve and stabilize their employment relationships in the construction sector through further training measures. On the other hand, the Ghanaian companies in the construction sector, which will find skilled workers with skills that are more closely aligned with their needs through the project measures, and will thus be able to compete better and participate more strongly in the boom of the construction industry in Ghana.

The direct target group are the two vocational training centers ATTC and NVTI as well as their staff, in particular teachers and liaison officers, who are advised and trained to create practice-oriented and labor market-suitable training and further education programs in the construction sector in cooperation with international and Ghanaian companies, thus facilitating their graduates’ access to the labor market.

Theimpact logic of the project is presented in detail as follows:

The indirect effect (impact of the project) consists in the business-oriented education and training in the Ghanaian construction sector, which strengthens the SME sector, promotes jobs and leads to improved employability for local skilled workers.

As a direct impact (outcome) of the project, it is expected that the vocational training centers ATTC and NVTI will be empowered to improve their education and training programs in selected construction trades in terms of labor market needs and quality.

To achieve this direct impact, three output areas are targeted: sustainable training in line with labor market needs and its sustainable implementation (outcome 1),improvement of training quality and practical relevance in existing offerings on selected construction trades (outcome 2) and intensive cooperation of the participating vocational training centers with Ghanaian and international companies in the construction sector (outcome 3).
