National Vocational Training Institute<\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) was founded in 1968 and, as a network of 34 training centers, is the largest vocational training institution in Ghana. In terms of quality, equipment and working conditions, there are great differences at the training centers spread throughout the country. At the NVTI, training is provided in 26 specialties at various levels from “school-based apprenticeships” to Certificate II. 1<\/a> In addition to the education and training courses in the construction sector, there are the following courses on which the project can build: Painting and Decorating, Masonry, Wood Construction, Tiling, Steel Bending, Draftsman, Plumbing and Pipefitting, and Air Conditioning Technology. As a state institution with central importance for the vocational training sector, international cooperation projects have already been carried out at the NVTI, including with GIZ and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training\/ iMOVE. Furthermore, there are long-standing contacts with potential cooperation companies such as MC-Bauchemie and Knauff. As a result of the resolution of the Education Regulatory Bodies Bill (2019), NVTI will in future report to the Ministry of Education and will be primarily entrusted with the administration of the individual training centers of the network. The transition with a restructuring and improvement of responsibilities is already underway.<\/p>\n
